How to do it
Fill a small freezer or food bag with household vinegar. For light buildup, use half vinegar and half water; for heavy limescale, use vinegar on its own.
Pull the bag over the showerhead so the nozzles sit fully in the liquid. Secure it with a rubber band or cable tie and let it soak for a few hours, ideally overnight.
Why it works
The acetic acid in vinegar loosens mineral deposits right where they block the spray holes. That helps the water flow evenly again without scraping each nozzle by hand.
After soaking, remove the bag, run warm water through the showerhead thoroughly, and wipe the surface dry.
What to watch out for
Do not let vinegar drip onto natural stone, marble, or delicate fittings. Put a cloth underneath or remove the showerhead if you want more control.
For brass, gold finishes, painted parts, or coated surfaces, check the manufacturer guidance first and keep the soak short. If you are unsure, test on a hidden spot or use a milder descaler.
